The annual Lugalo Open golf championship that was supposed to be staged at the Tanzania People’s Defence Forces’ (TPDF) course in January, will now tee off at the same venue this weekend.

The Tanzania Golf Union’s (TGU) vice-chairman Joseph Tango said the two-day 36-hole tournament is open to all and it will be the body’s seasonal opener following the postponement of Morogoro Open last month.

Moro Open suffered an eleventh-hour postponement as a result of downpour that rendered the course unplayable with soggy browns.

The Lugalo Open counts towards the TGU order of merit series and would attract most of the low handicap players from across the country.
TGU has lined up twenty sanctioned events to be organised by all clubs across the country.
