After an on and off lengthy illness, Tanzanian veteran musician,Maalim ,Gurumo passed away yesterday in Dar es Salaam. Maalim Gurumo died at the Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) where he was admitted.
He will be remembered as one of the top and talented musicians to have ever emerged from Tanzania. He was one of the greatest songwriter with almost all his songs telling a tale of caution towards life and how we view the world. Gurumo, an ardent Simba Sports Club fan, was a member of the Msondo Ngoma Music Band for over ten years.
May God rest his soul in eternal peace. Amen
