Tight at the top: Manuel Pellegrini (left) and Jose Mourinho (right) are both eyeing Brendan Rodgers (centre)
Jose Mourinho would like nothing better than to deny Liverpool
Liverpool versus Manchester City was about mutual respect, Manuel Pellegrini classy in defeat. When Jose Mourinho heads to Anfield, on Sunday Apr 27, it promises to be an eruption worthy of Mount Vesuvius. It is meeting that brings only antipathy.
Mourinho has adopted the persona of two-year-old child deprived of his milk and cuddly toys in the last few weeks. He snubbed the media after his side’s victory over Swansea, and is so paranoid he will eventually start to bug his own shadow. A master strategist and tactician, he will have his Chelsea players as focused as Steven Gerrard.
Although the focus is on Liverpool’s 24-year wait for the Premier League title, Mourinho will be eyeing the fixture he’s been dreaming about for nine years.
