The national soccer team, Taifa Stars, will play Burundi’s national side, Intamba Mu Rugamba on April 26 in a friendly encounter to mark the 50th anniversary of the union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar.
The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) information and communications officer, Boniface Wambura, said yesterday that the match will be played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, with the youth side of the home team already in residential camp in Tukuyu, Mbeya Region.
Players of the senior team currently playing for club sides in the ongoing Mainland Premier League will join the national team later.
The young Taifa Stars players will be grouped with the seniors under coach Salum Madadi. Kenyan officials will take up refereeing in the friendly.
